State-of-the-art laboratories and inventive techniques
Our Innovation centre is equipped with world class laboratories and forms the backbone of our businesses. The centre is home to some of the world leading equipments, devices and people who strive to continuously innovate based on sustainable and economically viable science.
The analytical lab is equipped with cutting-edge instruments that are used to characterize the chemical and physical properties of the formulated/synthesized material.
A high-resolution optical microscope (Leica) and a scanning electron microscope (Phenom, ICON) are used for microscopic analysis. With a resolution of up to nanometers, SEM is equipped with backscattered detectors and EDX (for elemental analysis). Through elemental analysis, these tools are used to analyze the surface attributes of materials such as size, shape and chemical identity. This approach was employed in textile to determine the nature of additive molecule binding on the substrate.
Thermogravimetric (TGA) analysis is a technique for assessing a material's thermal stability in the presence of nitrogen and in the ambient atmosphere. TGA is used to analyze the thermal stability of textile additives. TGA is attached to a mass spectrometer, allowing for the analysis of evolved gases using the MS detector and, as a corollary, chemical identification of unknown molecules is conducted using library.
Our textile lab is equipped with world class synthesis, formulation and application testing facilities. We strive to develop new molecules as per the market demands and needs that are sustainable and at the same time are economical.
